Endpoint Detection and Response
Endpoint Detection and Response
Using the managed endpoint detection and response (EDR) client provides the best protection for your device. EDR provides protection based on behaviors on the device. The EDR client will look for unusual behavior and then create a detection. EDR works with Windows, Apple Computers, and all versions of Linux. Our EDR solution is a partnership with CrowdStrike and MCNC, they (CrowdStrike and MCNC) monitor our EDR console to ensure that all our systems are protected.
NC State Faculty and Staff
There is a cost / licenses for CrowdStrike at $30 / license. Currently we are only charging for servers. Since we have received 7k licenses from the NC System Office we are using those licenses for end user machines.
