OIT Linux Service Environment/Linux Configuration Management

OIT Linux Service Environment/Linux Configuration Management

The OIT Linux Services (OLS) environment is a central place for users to build and maintain services on a Linux platform. The goal of this environment is to remove the need for users to learn about and maintain infrastructure. At the same time the environment is modular enough for a customer to take advantage of as much, or as little that the customer may need without being forced in an entire suite of options.  This environment has full support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and limited support for Ubuntu and CentOS.  The service is backed by a central Configuration Managment Service (CMS), which is currently Puppet.  The CMS, build, and Source Code Management is fully available to any users with an active account.

A Central Services and Integration (CSI) provided service to campus.  More information can be found here : https://oit.ncsu.edu/about/units/ss/central-services-and-integration/
