On 03/20/2024 at 1:00 PM, ComTech will be upgrading the VPN headend client for Windows, Mac, and Linux to Cisco Secure Client version 5.1.1.42. The client upgrade will start automatically after a successful authentication to vpn.ncsu.edu.

Final Update: ComTech Senior Engineer was able to restore the VPN Service. Customers are able to log back into the VPN.

Current Update: Senior Engineers have dispatched to site where troubled equipment is, and continue to troubleshoot towards VPN Service mitigation. There is no estimated time of repair available at this time. More details to follow.
Update: Current investigation has determined the cause of the intermittent VPN service to be a certification error. Senior Engineers require dispatch to physical location for further troubleshooting. Again, customers that remain logged in are currently unaffected. More details to follow.

Comtech will be migrating the routing for the ANYConnect VPN service. During the migration, the VPN service will be briefly unavailable. We do not anticipate that this change will take more than 1-2 minutes.

Final Update Addendum: After performing further analysis last night, it was discovered the root cause was due to a software bug. The ComTech Senior Engineer had to downgrade to a previous version to mitigate the software bug fault.

On Wednesday, February 22nd at 9:00 PM, ComTech will be enabling a 48 hours timeout for the Faculty/Staff VPN full tunnel group. Users will receive a notification message 30 minutes prior to their session disconnecting.

On 01/18/2023 at 1:00 PM, ComTech will be upgrading the AnyConnect VPN headend client for Windows, Mac, and Linux to version 4.10.06079. The client upgrade will start automatically after a successful authentication to vpn.ncsu.edu

On April 20th at 1:00 PM the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client will be upgraded from version 4.10.03104 to 4.10.04071. The upgrade will target Windows, MacOS, and Linux operating systems. The client upgrade will start automatically after you successfully authenticate to vpn.ncsu.edu.
