Mail relays for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment will be patched, updated, and rebooted at the shown time.  This is a standard change being applied during a planned extended maintenance weekend (EMW).  No downtime is anticipated. 

A new SMTP server pair will be transitioned into the existing ERP mail relay cluster.  The new pair operates on newer releases of the mail relay software and operating system. 

This upgrade takes place in the background without interruption to email flow.   Older existing SMTP server pair will continue to operate in parallel until the transition is complete.

Operating system updates & patches will be applied to the OIT CSI managed MTA's (Mail Relay Servers for ERP) at the shown time during the Extended Maintenance Weekend.

ERP's SMTP relays will receive O/S, Security, and Postfix related updates and fixes.  Servers will be patched and rebooted serially to maintain uninterrupted availability.

On 08/20/2021 08:00 AM the ERP Mail Relay servers will receive configuration to enable handling inbound SMTP traffic. 

During this maintenance, mail relaying continues as normal.

This is a prerequisite for an upcoming decommission of older relay servers.

We expect to complete within scheduled period.  An update will be sent out again when the work is completed or if additional time becomes needed.
