Any users with a university managed windows computer that has not upgraded to Windows 21H2 yet or continues to get errors when doing so will want to contact their local IT support group for further guidance and assistance with the windows upgrade.

Check your windows version:

  • Click Start > Settings  > System  > About
  • On the About page scroll down to Windows Specifications
  • Verify the version is: 21H2

Update 8-12-2022 2:00pm

There have been some changes made that will hopefully allow the windows upgrade to progress faster for the computers that are still in progress.  Users are still advised to wait until the upgrade completes.

Original Post

As of 6 pm on August 10, 2022, the Windows 10 21H2 update was required for all managed windows computers across campus.  Due to the volume of devices attempting to upgrade all at the same time the process has been reported by many users to be taking an extremely long time to complete.  Currently, the only course of action is to wait. You should not try restarting or powering off the computer unless told otherwise by your Local IT support staff.
