Following a recent update to Active Directory there have been some reports of issues mounting research storage using SMB primarily on MacOS devices. 

Software on storage system was updated Monday July 31 at 2pm and resolved issue that resulted from a recent Active Directory update

As of approximately 6pm on Jan 5 Research Storage is available from new storage hardware.

If you are encountering issues mounting the storage an endpoint reboot may be needed. If a reboot does not restore connection please submit an incident to oit_research_storage@help.ncsu.edu

IP addresses from old system were moved to new system, so no changes are necessary to mount configurations.

 

Work is taking longer than expected. Currently projecting that Research Storage will be available by 6pm

 

Research Storage will move to new hardware beginning Jan 4 at 5pm and being available again by 9am Jan 5
