Comtech is aware of a current degradation within the Campus Wireless network, impacting user connectivity to the wireless network. Senior Engineers have been engaged and are currently troubleshooting.
Planned maintenance - Wireless Networks
Due to the current software on our network switches having end of security and vulnerability support announced for September of this year we are upgrading the switches off hours during the summer session. The residence hall wireless switches, core network switches, and network switches within campus buildings will be upgraded during the weekend of July 13-14. The software upgrade requires a reboot of the switches which will result in a loss of up to 30 minutes of wired and wireless communication as the switches reboot. Since the upgrade affects a large number of switches within data closets in each building across campus we are not able to advise specific times for each data closets upgrades. Vet School buildings and libraries are being coordinated with for timing.
No impact is expected from the upgrades to the core switches are they are redundant.
Hillsborough building switches will not be upgraded until after 10am on Saturday July 13.
The switches which the VPN is on will be upgraded between 10am to 12pm on Saturday July 13. These are redundant and no impact is expected.

Planned maintenance - Wireless Networks
Unneeded network equipment which had serviced campus and residence hall wireless, anyconnect and VoIP sip circuits will be decommissioned during this maintenance window. This equipment has reached the end of the period of time it was to be left on to provide quick failback after these services were migrated to new equipment before the fall semester. During the process of decommissioning there is no anticipated interruption in service, however, there is always a slight percentage chance of an unforeseen interruption to service of less than 5 seconds during the time the equipment is being decommissioned.
The decommissioning of devices that serviced campus wireless, anyconnect and VoIP sip circuits will be done after JB Hunt and DH Hill libraries closing times of 6pm.
