Reactivate the Duo Mobile App KB0012682
If you have a new phone or device with the same phone number, have factory reset your device, removed the Duo Mobile app, or need to reactivate Duo on your phone for any reason, follow these instructions to access the QR code needed to add the new device or to reactivate an existing device. If you have gotten a new phone number, please see the article for I Changed Phone Numbers and I am Locked Out of Duo.
Accessing the My Setting & Devices page
In order to reactivate Duo on your device, you must first access the Duo Enrollment and Device Management page.
- Go to the Duo Enrollment and Device Management page.
- Sign in with your Unity ID and password.
- When you are prompted to log in through Duo, use one of the following alternative login methods listed below to sign in. Send me a Push will typically NOT work.
- The most common option is to Request and use an SMS (Text) Passcode.
- If you are not getting an SMS passcode, get a self-service 2FA Bypass Code for Duo.
- Use another device (tablet, phone, or U2F Security Key) that is also already enrolled in Duo.
- Call the NC State Help Desk at 919-515-4357(HELP) if none of these above methods work.
Reactivating the Duo Mobile App
Once logged in, you should be on the My Settings & Devices page. You can then follow these steps to reactivate your device or to add a new one:
- Select Device Options, listed next to your device. On mobile browsers, this may appear as a gear icon.
- Select Reactivate Duo Mobile.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reactivate or add your new device.
Note: If you do not see the Reactivate Duo Mobile option, you most likely set up your device for SMS only. You will want to add your phone as a new device to begin using the Duo Mobile app.
